Antique Skinning Knife or Kukri

FOR SALE ☞ Antique skinning knife or Kukri

DESCRIPTION ☞ Countless hours of research have gone into identifying exactly what this knife is. Even our go-to experts are stumped! From what we can tell, it appears to be a type of skinning knife or form of Kukri knife, but if someone reading this has any further information, it is greatly appreciated!

The sheath is very ornately carved and has some kind of animal hair on it. Our best guess, would be camel or boar hair, due to it being very course. It has a metal band around the top of the sheath, which appears to be made out of silver, adorned with fine bead work and a type of tassel. The knife and scabbard are clearly very old. A piece of string or rope was added some time later on to be used as a sling. This knife is incredibly unique and perhaps one of a kind.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT ☞ Approx Length : 14 inches

CONDITION ☞ The knife is in good shape for its age and application. The metal on the knife is in good condition. The blade still has an edge. There is no pitting or rust on the blade. The scabbard is also in really good shape. No chips, cracks or repairs evident. The small tassels hanging on the scabbard do show some signs of age and slight discoloration. The bead work however are all in place and none seem to be missing.
