DESCRIPTION ☞ This beauty stands over a foot tall. Brightly painted, she wears a navy blue sailor suit and a silver banded hat that says US NAVY. Glossy at the front and chalk finish on the back. Signed JY Jenkins "Copywrited" 1943

June Yates Jenkins was one of the most prominent and well-respected, talented chalk ware artists during the great carnival chalk ware prize era of the early 1920's to 1950's. J.Y. Jenkins was the first artist to copyright his chalk ware art. Yates Jenkins copyrighted over 75 pieces of carnival chalk ware. His first copyright was on January 8, 1923, the last one was on June 15 1945.
